  4. Amrita was shocked because she saw some men carrying axe move toward the trees.
  5. When he heard the news that the villagers died protecting the trees and animals. He changed his mind and instructed to protect the plants and animals.
  6. The men killed the villagers because they were instructed by the king to strike down the trees— but the villagers hugged the trees and did not let go of them. Therefore, the men accidentally killed some of the villagers.
  7. They were called Bishnois because they were greatly influenced by the plants and animals of the area. Moreover, they didn’t care about their lives to save them.
  8. The three main points about the Khejadi tree are given below: –
    (a) They are mainly found in desert areas.
    (b) Their barks are used for making medicines.
    (c) People eat the fruit (beans) of this tree.
  9. In earlier times, rejecting the king’s orders was considered an act of treason. So, one should pay his/her life as a punishment. If I were in this situation, I would probably go back to the castle and explain the incidents to the king. Perhaps, this step would’ve saved some precious lives.
  10. Yes, I think that they did the right thing because, in this instance, they wouldn’t have saved the trees with any other action.
